I'd be surprised if too many people remember this little cartoon, but I was obsessed with it when it was on! Monster Tails was on a kids morning show called Wake, Rattle And Roll, about a kid in his basement with a Johnny 5 like robot. The two cartoons aired during the show were Monster Tails and a variation of Wacky Races. Monster Tails is about the pets of Hollywood's famous classic monsters, and Igor's son. Frankenstein's dog Frankenmutt has a genius brain, and takes it out to massage it when he thinks hard, Bride of Frankenstein's dog Elsa has the brain of a parrot and likes Frankenmutt, Dracula's cat Catula's kind of a jerk with powers, The Mummy's dog Mumfrey is always trying to sleep everywhere, Creature From The Black Lagoon's goldfish Angel has a blasting scream and when Dr. Jekyll's dog Dr. Veenie sneezes, he turns into Mr. Snyde. show is impossible to find so these aren't screen grabs, these are drawings I did in 1990 from paused screens of a video tape I wish I still had! I drew all the major characters and the logo, and just recently pulled them from the bottom of my portfolio. I scanned them, then traced and re-colored them in photoshop. There are barely even any real links out there that mention the show, Toonarific has the only actual pictures from the show I could find, and YouTube has the intro for Wake, Rattle And Roll with a tiny bit of Monster Tails in it. I made these for myself really, and they make me grin every time I see them, but I hope there are other fans out there who will find these as cool as I do!
